Neato VX-11 reprogramming

I have a Neato VX-11 (actually come to think of it, it is technically an VX-14) that is behaving oddly. I have been in contact with Neato Tech Support and they have stated that it needs to be wiped and re-imaged. Now I, being an IT Professional, should be able to do this. I have been into the USB connection using a PuTTY to help Neato Tech Support (NTS) troubleshoot my troublesome robot. I am certain that I should be able to do this using these tools. I have downloaded the Neato Programming Guide from the Neato Website but can’t quite figure out the commands to accomplish this. HAve any of you folks done this? I would really appreciate some assistance here, folks! Thanks in advance!

Hi, if the computer is detecting the robot, we would suggest you to simply update your robot if it behaves oddly.
To do so, simply follow the instructions on Neato’s website. You will have to open an account and register your robot.
Once it is done, select the software update option under “My Neato” and follow the steps. You’ll upgrade your robot to the version 3.4.
Please let us know how it goes.

WE have done that already and it is still behaving in the same manner. Because of this NTS is suggesting that we send it to Dextron to have it wiped and re-imaged, but I image that I should be able to do this if I can communicate with the robot via the USB port and PuTTY, yes?

Unfortunately, we cannot confirm if a user can do that without the base software at first. Since wiping the whole software means there won’t be anything left on the robot, if you do not have the whole software to install on the robot, you’ll basically brick the robot. As said in the other topic, we would strongly to either replace your motherboard , the RPS or have it verified by Neato.

OK, Thanks!
