Neato Botvac exhibiting odd behaviour

Hello all. I’m hoping someone here can provide some insight as to what’s happening so I can attempt to conduct some repairs.

My Neato Botvac (original model) is acting strangely. If I set it to start cleaning a room/whole house, it will run through the paces with no issues. But if I attempt to manually control it over WiFi, it will run for a random amount of time (sometimes as little as a minute, other times up to 10 minutes), but will suddenly stop and indicate there is a brush jam and that it needs to be cleaned.

The spindle is rotating freely. There is no binding, no dragging, nothing.

I have swapped out the regular brush for the silicone sweeper, and the problem persists. It goes for a short time under manual operation, then ‘jams’. If I clear the jam and then set it to ‘auto mode’, it will completely clean the area with no jam ups, which suggests to me that the issue isn’t an actual brush jam or problem with the motor, but something else. I just have no idea what it might be.

I have reset the unit multiple times, reinstalled the companion app, cleaned all the sensors, to no avail.

Any suggestions on what to try next are greatly appreciated!
