I’m trying to select the best location for my charge base for my brand new Neato Botvac Connected. The Neato was started in Cleaning mode and after 2 or 3 minutes, I applied the “Pause” to pause the cleaning and then the “Return to start option”. The robot stop cleaning and returns near the charge base (“Return to start” as indicated on my phone" instead of going to its base (“Retour à la base”) for charging.
I think the base is located correctly (as seen on photo) and my Neato has succeeded a few times to return to its base. Now it doesn’t.
I try to understand why, Neato is returning to “start” instead of to its base.
@JeanLelievre This all depends from where you start it from, if it starts from the base then it should go back to the base. If this does not work then try another location for the charging base. If you are still experiencing problems we would suggest that you contact our support center.
The reason is because I didn’t interrupt the cleaning cycle. Earlier, I have tested the “return to base” action after 2 or 3 minutes of cleaning. In that case, it succeed only about 10% of the times.
I think that the robot need to pass near the charging station a few times to be sure of the exact location of the charging station. Maybe someone can validate this.
@JeanLelievre that is correct the Robot must see the charging base a few times during it’s cycle before it as it mapped, you have to wait a least a few minutes after a start before asking it to return to base. If this does not work than maybe changing the location of the charging base will help.
