I made this 4WD RC cart. It runs great for my needs. But I have a problem with two of the motors getting really hot after driving around for around 30minutes. This happens when I sit on the cart (310kg of weight all together with the cart)
It uses 4 wheelchair motors, 2 100aH gel batteries and 2 Sabertooth 2x60.
Is there a way that I can fix the overheating problem, and what can happen to the motors if they are hot.
As I see, you have 4 motors installed. Are all of these 4 exactly the same motors? Which of these 2 get hot (which positions)? Did you try to exchange positions of the motors?
Generally, if the motor is overheated too often, it will reduce it’s lifetime or it can break at some point soon.
Hello, no this motors are not the same. The front are the same, and rear 2 are the same.
It is possible that the ones that are overheating are a little faster, and they may be doing more work. I can try and reduce the power on that sabertooth
