Morning to everyone!!
That is my first post here;-)!!..and my first problem is:
Could not Find processor
I’ve Installed the Atom pro 28 module in my bb2 as show here
lynxmotion.com/images/html/build147.htm
I’ve connected it to’ my pc with USB serial Adapter ( my ssc 32 work well with tris cable)Putting much attention to all jumpers like in that diagram
Dowloaded the last version of BASIC Atom pro ide
While the bb2 is connected there are 3 led on and the green one also on and a ‘tic’ sound every second
But when i’ve to find the Atom pro trowght Tools> prerence> setting my com port at around 66% it stops and show that
Could not find processor
Where i wrong?!
My pc has Windows xp
Pls help…i have to buy a Phoenix
ok i stopped reading once i read “tic” sound. this will indicate your atom is not correctly inserted. need to be pushed right in. it will take a bit of force so be careful that all pins are aligned before you apply pressure to pop it in.
I didn’t it couse I had fear to break it
It’s very strong to push it down…it’s normal?
So I suppose that the sound must not be a ‘Tic’ but a ‘Beep’?!
I hope will be so,this evening I’ll try in this way
Thanx very much
yes be careful 'they are very hard to push in.
as long as the pins are all aligned correctly to the socket and you push evenly over the chip then it should slip in.
lots of pressure but slowly!
good luck.
I tryed…and…
I’ve breaked one of 28 pins…It’s a big problem?!
Oops. that’s not good.
i think maybe these chips should become pre-installed.?
Does u mean to join that chip to bb2?
In if bring it in a center thay can replace the braked pin or repair it?
is the pin completely ******?
can it be repaired?
my thoughts are that maybe you can “carefully” de-solder it and resolder a new pin back on? im not sure you will get it replaced as its a user error and not a fault in the manufacturing.
I’ll tryed to put much…and much attention but for 3 time i pushed it down but just when all seamed to be good, looking better , I noticed that one pin was bent
So after exstract it repeatedly , a pin was break…1 cm circ
So do u think if i find someone that can resold it ( if that is possible) maybe the atom pro will not work?
Thanx kurt…
I hope that I’ll resolve this problem…without spend other money for another basic atom pro …
re-soldering it shouldn’t be a problem, as long as you find someone local who has any spare pins and will solder one on for you.
You are welcome. Actually the link was for $.10 for a pin…
For aure It’d be’ great if i can order it by that website, but It’s very hard…I live in Italy:-(
For sure they don’t ship only it here
I have to hope that i can find a pin so in sane shop here
Which pin is broken? If it’s just an I/O pin you may not even need it.
I’ve made a picture but I can’t upload now it with ipad:-(…
Looking the pictures in this discussion,it’s the first on the right ( where there are 2 little yellow squares) upside…
For now I whant to resolve doing a bridge at the broked pin…i hope it 'll work
What do u think about?
from your description it seems you are explaining Pin17?
General purpose I/O Pin.
Analog to Digital (A/D) AN6
?
oh with ur diagram it’s more easy to explain;-)…thanx man
My english is not so good;-)
So it’s pin 18
This pin is not used with the Phoenix. No need to fix it, just ignore it.
That’s a very good news for me !!!
Yuppi!!!
I insert this module in bb2 and let start to test it…i hope all goes in the right way
