This SkullTest video showing the gimbal moving ,Servo are Not hookup for the up down or left right movements
There will be a change in servo (up,down) . The servo is high Torque , And works ,But need a higher torque servo.

That looks really fun!

It looks as though you have a lot of room in the skull. If you counter-balance the weight wouldnā€™t that servo be enough? Is the material you used to cast the skull like expanded PVC? (Weight/Strength)

Iā€™ve almost finished a Dragon Wing with my new actuatorsā€¦ Iā€™ll post pictures soon. It would be great fun to work with someone with your talent/experienceā€¦ or at least get a lot of advice. :slight_smile:

I noticed that the head doesnā€™t have any roll. are you planing on including that with a seperate joint or is that overkill for a desktop Spaceape?

I design back of skull for the servos to be the counter-balance and running flex cable to them.

Well ,I did the skull movement with the servos. Only 3 servos, The jaw and the left and right move ,Up and down movement .
Testing how far of movement for jaw ā€¦Dam ,I was surprised ,This thing could bite HARD. I could break the teeth .
Overall, I can control the speed L+R ,U+D easy ā€¦Jaw. I can open wide and close 2 sec. Or I can open and close slow 2,3,4, mins.
I have 13 servos left to installā€¦ Maybe more.

Very neat!
Do you have any plans for articulating the lips,eyelids, brow, etc.? Maybe even the tongue?

This is rather exciting, I canā€™t wait to see this project at completion! 8)

Yes, The lips will have 3 servos each(6). Eyes will have 2 for up and down and left right and lids 2 servos.The eyebrows 2 servos .Maybe more servos.
Tongue,Maybe connected to the jaw ,So went the jaws opens the tongue will move.
There was a change in servo (up,down)

It came out great, It was short in 1 place near the top right vent ,This spot would be cover with hair anyway. 4or 5 little bubbles ,But on away like the 1st one.The whole thing cure ,11hours and the 10th turn on the heat up to 140 ,So 10 hours at 126 to 129.
I think I will keep the batch size and make sure I scrape the bowl clean,Or injected it.
The oven worked Great. Oven cost $150.00 to make.
So, Now what ,I will get all of the mechs done and set eyes place.The eyes are in place but not just right. A couple mm forward or back.And then measure lip springs.
So ,Getting the whole skull thing working and talking ,ears casted too. And the run another skin.

I changed the bite today ,In order to lower the foam lips before I had lip spring.Raising the teeth up and back some.

Tonight, Ive been working the skull,Setting up servos,Adding and change out some cables.Measuring lip wires and eyes with the test skin.
Next weekend will run a new skin.Will setup the oven this weekend.
