I am planning a robot, but I have several questions that I need answered. As you can see, I'm still a beginner. I appreciate any help you can give me.

1. It will use a Picaxe-28 Project Board with the same chips as the Start Here robot. If I use a Picaxe-28x2 and configure some of the digital inputs as outputs, will they function exactly the same as the other outputs? And could I control an LED and small speaker from them?

2.I plan on adding a Remote Control option. What infrared sensor do I connect to the IR area, and how do I use it to control the robot?

3. Is the maximum number of servos 8?

4. I plan on enclosing the microcontroller unit, will I need a heat sink and a fan, and how should I connect the fan?

Can’t Figure It Out…

I just can’t seem to figure the answer to my first question. Has anyone used the Picaxe-28 Project Board with the Picaxe-28x2 and configured some digital inputs as analog inputs, or as outputs for a a LED and a small speaker? If not, is there a way to make it work like that? Again, I’m new to robotics, and any answers are highly appreciated.
