MSN PC problems

Kinda going off the topic of robots for a second. As most of you may know I built an awsome PC a few months ago for gaming and work. For the past 2 months now, Ive noticed MSN has not been working well on my system in unisen with Hotmail.com (my e-mail providers). Ive repaired, unistalled and re-installed MSN messenger many times a still get the same results. MSN also seems like it slows down my PC a little as well since sometimes it takes almost a half hour to come up after startup (I have it set to automatically startup with windows). I use MSN very frequently as one of the main communication tools I have (hardly ever use the phone). Im just wondering if this is my PC’s fault or MSN/hotmail’s?

Anyone experiencing the same symptoms or is it just me?

thanks.

Joe, i am too… its hotmail… totally slows the pc down. i wish there was a better windows im communicator…

Use Trillian instead, and disable as many startup programs as possible, those are just going to add to your bootup times.

Also, check to see if you have Microsoft Desktop Search or Google Desktop Search installed, uninstall those if you’re having performance issues, as they are indexing services and tend to slow down your machine.

mmm, I dowlaoded the 5.1 version of msn and my computer can go so much faster than with microsoft live mensenger. before just like one other internet page open my cmopt would laaagggg.

You can do evrything with it : share files, webcam exept you can’t send nuges… but if it’s for work

But I don’t think I have a problem with hotmail (well my computer has been running really slow for the past 3 month about but I don’t know if it’s because of hotmail, I don’t think.

I know on my older machine that I don’t use very often, it would sometimes take a minute or two before my machine could talk to the internet. I found that it was caused by Symantic (Norton) security tools. It was like it waited to time out on something before it would continue.

If you are using one of these tools you might try turning it off and see if this solves your problem… But I would recommend you run something!

I’m running AVG right now, i was also told that if you delete your internet history before shutting down it would work. But i still think its b/c we talk to much on msn and we hav alotta music.
