Moving Angel Wings...Can I Do It?!

Hi Everyone,

I’m a theatre director in Chicago and I’m doing a production of Cupid & Psyche. You know, Cupid, the guy with the wings on all the Valentine’s Day Cards.

I want to build (or have built) wings that my actor can wear and that a stage-hand can activate by remote control. I’m thinking that robot/servo arms might be a good solution.

Any thoughts? Is this possible and is it something an absolute beginner might be able to pull off? Also, what might it cost?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Eddie

You probably could make your flapping wing control from a $10 R/C toy.

how much research have you done on something like this… finding machanical wings from a toy is a good place to start.

also whats the intention of the wings… are they just to open up and close in slow sessions, or flap?

this may also help with design
