Mounting Mecanum Wheels separate from motors

I want to build a robot using the Vex 4’’ Mecanum Wheel Set (Vex page). To utilize the wheels without re-machining them, I would have to use some length of what the VEX 12’’ Long Square Bars are. Due to constraints posed by the other parts of the robot, I can not mount the wheels directly on the motor or a gearbox. So, do any bearings exist that would fit a square rod that of size? If not, how are these wheels usually mounted, discounting directly on the motors?

We are not aware of any square bearings - even VEX uses round plastic. Vex parts are compatible with VEX parts and not much else - they are usually mounted on a parallel shaft, connected to the VEX drive motor by a gearing system. If you don’t plan to use all VEX parts, then you might consider other Mecanum wheels.

I was thinking about it incorrectly. I need to use these to hold a square bar in a larger round/normal bearing. Sorry about that.
