Motorized Wheels

First, I want to let you know I am an amateur. I am working a on a project for my car wash that remotely controls three motorized wheels that will move slowly through my car wash bay. I am thinking possibly three wheels that will turn at the same RPM and can that can be slowed down to a slow crawl and not needing to go very much faster than a crawl. The motorized wheels will need to carry the weight of about 15-20lbs. I can add non-motorized wheels if needed to support the weight of it’s load. It can be a wired remote and all the wheels will travel at the same speed all the time but will need to go forward and backward. Here are the products I was considering so far:

2 pairs of Cytron Power Window Motors w/ 5" Wheels (Pair) Product Code : RB-Cyt-177 (even though I think I only need three)

1 Cytron 10A 5-30V Dual Channel DC Motor Driver (I am hoping I can control the speed and direction of all three wheels with this board keeping them all at the same speed)

I do not know what power supply to get for this

I do not know what switches or user interface that I would need to wire into this board to change directions and to change speed.

As mentioned, I am an amateur so please be kind if my description is not up to your robotic minds standards.

TIA

Hi Buzzie,

One of the issue you will encounter with this is the speed of the motors.
When dealing with DC motors, you will find that even if you are sending the same “voltage” to all the motors, they will not turn exactly at the same RPM.

When one need to have everything at the same speed, usually a single motor and a mechanical linkage between the wheels will be more accurate.
