I recently purchased the Motorair Dual DC motor controller with the bluetooth bee installed. I have a LG stylo 6 running the new android os. I believe its android 10. After carefully reading the instructions to pair and create an active connection with a smart phone i attempted to do that. I got a device found in the bluethooth section of my phones network but every attempt to pair failed. The flashing blue LED went steady during pairing attempt but continued flashing when the attempts failed. I then moved to my Toshiba laptop to try a USB connection via the test software provided and again no recognition of the device by the PC. I did locate it in device manager and from there pointed the update driver portion of the unknown device to the .inf files of the drivers i downloaded for the module and again tried to see if i could connect. Nothing and in the test program when i selected the COM3 port i recieve an error message saying no module found. From there i figured I’d try an older phone that had no service but is still a good phone with an older version if android. This phone saw the the device and did connect to the motorair module and i did get a little controllability from that connection but not a soild one. The speed control was backward(fast was slow and slow was fast) and other minor control issues. The PC remains in a non connected state for control. Im not sure if there is a way to flash the motorair module with a newer sketch that will allow my android 10 phone to connect to this module. I have an invention prototype in the development stage that i have chosen to use the motorair as its controller and if this can be made to work and my invention takes hold and becomes a viable product then i will be purchasing hundreds or even thousands of these modules as drop in components. I need to solve this connection issue the simplest way as i am entirely to busy building this thing to stop and concentrate on an area where i could just as easy drop a controller into and move on to the next process. Can someone direct me on how to remedy this? It feels like this module i have could have possibly been owned already and was a return and i am the new recipient and it had been flashed with a different firmware hex file. Kevin Cunningham
Hello @Kdotscomc,
We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your motor controller.
Please provide us with the order number.
Sincerely,
Hello Ebram,
So the update. I did get a response from tinysine on an email i sent them detailing my issues. They sent me an apk for Motorair V2. It loads in the same style and UI seems the same, which is lacking on smoothness of user interaction and the constant popups of the request permission for device search are a drawback, but over all identical. To the exception of the compatability with android 10 and my LG stylo 6. My phone found BT Bee Btm and it connected giving me control at a seemingly reliable, drop in component. For a short minute I was dreading another Arduino crash study on flashing sketches to modules and then testing out the configs. I just did a three year stint with the additive manufacturing field as a hooby. 3-D printing. Buying then disassembling then on to partially reassembling and not on the original machine or new parts entirely. Number 5 was entirerly my build. Or actually i should say “is” my build because it is incomplete and I have moved hobbies however. But i know it would or will work if and when it does get finished. So i also gained out of all that is a couple hundred dollars of popped mother boards that somewhere on each one something is broke but i couldn’t tell you what. And i also learned flashing sketches also. The motorair V2 i am sure can be modified in that fashion but to my relief it is set to go immediately on plugging in it and turning it on.
My new hobbie I am pretty confident will put me in good shape with finance’s and the invention idea will be controlled by modules the same as the motorair or possibly a more exclusive one to the be powering upgrades on the idea in the future. The thing I am building is 90% hand built with scrap steel and parts from all over the world so motorair has been chosen to be the link for smart phone contol. Tomorrow I’ll have my provisional patent and if you are interested what it is that I’m building, I’ll share some of it with you. You may even know some outlets that may have a benefit to the project or vice versa. There seems to still be a USB issue with my pc but I never intended to use it through that means anyway. So for my needs it has proven useful in all it provides with convenience and simplicity and I appreciate that. I get more time to apply to the other challenges on this build. This is the link for motorair apk that tinysine sent that worked for my phone.

Hello @Kdotscomc,
Thank you for your reply.
We are glad to hear that the APK is working on your phone now.
We would love to know more about your invention indeed, you can share it with us either now or when it’s ready on the “Projects” sections of our website.
Wish you all the best in completing the invention smoothly and successfully.
Sincerely,
