Motor rotation question

I purchased a motor product code RB-Sct-948 ( 12V, 313RPM 416.6oz-in Precision Planetary Gearmotor) and the data sheet shows that the rotation is counter clockwise. Will I damage the motor if I reverse the polarity to make it run clockwise?

Hi @Tigerhead
this is just an explanation how they made the test . They also mention, the motor was tested in horizontal position, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it in any position.

There are only a few circumstances, where a brushed motor (with timed brushes) or a planetary gearbox (with angled teeth) would behave differently when running against the preferred direction.
But that’s not the case here.

Thank you for the reply. I suspected such but just thought I would ask before destroying a motor. Your help is very mush appreciated.
