Motor not turning wheels

Hey all, so I bought my son the Vex Robotics Offroad Truck for Christmas. Now we got the whole thing together to find out that one of the motors that turn the wheels isnt performing. There isn’t any motion in it at all. I’ve tried calling places to find out what to do but no one is getting back to me. Can anyone help me please.

Was this kit bought from RobotShop ?

Can you try swapping the defective motor with one that is working to see if the problem really is the motor ?

No I bought it at Canadian Tire in Collingwood Ont. I have tried to swap the motor and it’s just that one. It wont turn the wheels.

In this case, I’d suggest you to directly contact the manufacturer;

I had the same issue - I found the angle sensor was not making contact with the “brain” - leading to intermittent steering.
the fix: prior to turning on the brain, I would gently press the sensor connector to the left side of the vehicle, and turn on the brain.
This gave enough contact to allow the sensor to register the slight startup “wiggle” of the steering motor, and with luck, would allow the steering to run for a few minutes. once the truck hit something, the sensor connector would jiggle a bit, and lose connection.
Putting objects between the sensor connectors to hold it in place (eg an eraser, folded paper etc) would work for a while, and then fall out.

i’ve reached out to the email address above, and will see what they come back with (a replacement sensor would be awesome).
