Motor for camera slider

Hello,

I’m new here and a novice when it comes to this. I’m interested in buying this slider for making high speed video. robotshop.com/eu/en/motorize … ewBoxTitle

I would like the camera to be able to move the full 120 cm quickly. Would a Nema 17 motor be able to do that in a couple of seconds or would need something more powerful.

I was looking at the Technik Clearpath Servo motors which seem great but expensive and I think I would need a DC power supply with that. teknic.com/

Any advice on motors and how do control them would be very much appreciated.

Hi Brendan,

We do not have the specs of the speed that you would be able to reach with the stepper configuration but it should be quite fast.
The larger the camera, the slower you will have to go if you want to avoid skipping of the steps inside the motor.
