Motor controllers

Hi, didn’t see a section for that so I post it here.

what’s the difference between the first sabertooth motor controller you see and the second? I see there’s a price difference… wich one is best to go with?

thank you for any information

Sam

I think the one with servo leads going out from the motor operates pretty much like the older obsolete scorpion motor controller but with way more voltage difference - 15amps I believe is the max. Im not sure about the other sabertooth, the specs are the same and everything but the controller ports to plug your motors in seem different and it just looks plain nicer with that badboy heat sink!

I thought it was just the more expensive one had the heatsink included. I sure hope it’s not an older / newer version thing.

It may well be seing as how the specs are completely the same. But looking at the boards you can see that there are more inputs for wires and stuff??

??? :open_mouth:

well the DE-08 is just a single controller so that makes sense.

The other thing is the description for control inputs between the DE-05 and DE-06 is different. Looks like in addition to the heatsink the DE-05 also has more input options. Whew… I didn’t intend to use anything but normal servo signals so I’m set…

I was scared for a second there…

yeah I saw those options, but does it make a difference? I meen I will be able to controll the motor with the mini ABB and sabertooth with the servo pulses right?

yep.
