These worm drive motors are suitable for robot wheels, but are they suitable for robot articulated joints? Specifically, is there any backlash (a small amount of angular movement at the coupling when not powered)?
The amount of backlash in these motors is generally low.

I have a similar Nissan motor which has zero BL, and a couple of BMW motors which have high BL. Looking for someone with experience of these actual motors and if backlash is low/zero from new, how long before wear leads to backlash, if at all.
