Grant Imahara seems to be using the SES brackets in making the robots. The fingers also look incredibly interesting.
Yup, the hands are way cool!!
Their activated by some wires tt is being coiled by a motor inside the palm…

The fingers are Robart Pin Hinges for giant scale R/c Planes. I have some infront of me.
He has the 2 hinges on each finger. A length of wire is run down the inside of them and outside of them. The outside wire has a spring tensioner and the inside wires run to a spool on a small servo. The servo turns and retract the inside wire, causing the fingers to squeeze together. When it releases, the spring tensioned outside wires open the hand back up.
