ML6 Product Prototype

Here’s an image of the upcoming ML6 Robotic Arm. Truth is it can be built right now with off the shelf components, with the exception of the dampening bearings for the HS755 servos. We will be making those available early next week. To head off 20 questions concerning the dampening bearings. It’s simply a way to add a bit of controllable friction in the bracket assembly for the HS755 servo. The mount where the normal 3mm bearings normally go. This prevents oscillations that can occur when moving a large mass with a strong, but fast servo. These oscillations are caused by overshoot. The dims are:

base to shoulder = 5.75"
Shoulder to wrist = 7.38"
Payload = dunno yet. :wink:

The extended reach and 3DOF planar design should lend itself nicely to being able to manipulate items in a larger work envelope such as chess pieces on a chess board.

Here are a couple so so images for a size comparison.
