MiniOne Foldable 3D Printer Help

Hi Everyone-

I am an absolute noob with 3D printers and I picked up the MiniOne Foldable 3D Printer. I am having the absolute worst time trying to print anything! I have downloaded a couple of very simple designs from Thingaverse and tried all sorts of file formats, but nothing will print. I have gone through the 4 page user manual to load and heat the printer. The SD card is recognized and seems to load the file…then nothing. I have been at it for hours now and nothing has come out. The nozzle heats up and spits out a few inches of filament while heating and “preparing”, but that’s it. I am in dire need of some help, or for someone to say I wasted $150 and to move on. I get it, “you get what you pay for”, but I wanted to see if I would use it and how easy it really was. I figured what better way than to get a cheap printer and see what happens, but this thing doesn’t print anything! Thanks in advance to whomever responds to this.

Chris

@chris Welcome to the RobotShop Community. There are a few sources of error:

  • Printer hardware (might need calibration, especially for nozzle height)
  • Software (perhaps missing something?)
  • Filament (imperfections cause clogging)

Have you tried to reach out to the manufacturer? Note too that even the best of printers have issues still which need to be resolved regularly.
