The videos are on page 2. Most of the pages have pictures.
I have seen your sumo got across the ring, but I wanna see it go at that speed but without falling off the ring! With the edge sensor and with oponent detection. Let him go across the ring for a few second and then drop something on the ring! Post you video on youtube so you might get more people to check it out.
Thanks!
Jerome
It can not go full speed with line sensing, as this is not my stratigy.
I have just finish testing the sensor on my sumo!! WOW!
Killer!!
I need more work in the strategie. I will use at least 3 type of start strategie.
Can wait to fight in real life!
Good luck!

wow! im just started on a mini sumo and dont have many parts. My budget is quite low so do any of you know where you can get some cheap and strong gear motors. Im also wondering whether it would be possible to use 4 motors, one for each wheel. i am using a Picaxe 18 right now but am thinking about getting a picaxe 28. (they are the cheapest). Any help would be great!
hello
please don’t start with a 4 wheels drive!
Start with a two wheels drive
Start with the solarbotics GM3 or GM6
solarbotics.com/motors_accessories/2/
You will have a harder time finding the wheel to fit
If you buy this, you will be set and ready to roll!
solarbotics.com/products/gmpw_deal/
you will find pictures of robots
picasaweb.google.fr/robomaniac
For sensor you could buy GP2D12 or this one!
robotshop.ca/home/products/r … ensor.html
My favorite one! It will give you 0 or 5Volts! Nothing complex!
Just hook it up and you are ready to program!
two sensors is a good start
ps- build your self a ring to pratice! You can use a big black poster and paint to white line!
good luck!

Panther won first place in the advanced division of the CNRG. It beat the solarbotics somovores and parallax sumo bots with ease, but in the masters division it lost in the first match against Jerome. (robomaniac)
Cudos to you miestro! Well done! The Lynxmotion Community is proud!
Just in case you’re curious, Seeker 2, my mini-sumo, won first in the master’s division…

Very funny Jon…
What was the PCB software you were using?
What Im wondering is how you made those awsome tires (they look homemade).
Mine or seeker’s?
There are details about mine earlier in the thread.
I think Jon’s are similar.
I think they are similar to mine…
lol, ok thx!
I made those tires the same way I made the tires for Seeker 3, which is documented here:
huv.com/miniSumo/seeker3/index.html
The wheels are machined from Delrin, and the “tires” are poured polyurethane. Here’s a picture from when I was building Seeker 2, back in the summer of 2002:

The PCB software I use is Rimu PCB - hutson.co.nz/rimupcb.htm
