This is my first venture into this kind of project. I really need some help.
I am having trouble making the Mini ABB Board work. This is the first time I have tried to download the program from the computer to the board. I followed the steps in the manual and the screen message said export completed successfully. I then unplugged the serial cable and plugged in the servos. I phoned Tech Support earlier and was told that the processor on the Mini ABB Board would then run the program upon power-up. My problem is that nothing happens. My question is: Do I have to connect the mini board and the SSC-32 board together with the provided jumper to make the servos work? I thought that the ABB board was all I needed to control the servos independently.
It’s now Thursday evening and I have to demonstrate this on Monday, so I would appreciate a reply ASAP.
The mini-ab board can run the servos without the ssc-32, however, the speed at which the controller runs will be greatly reduced unless a ssc-32 is used.
Without knowing how you have things hooked up, make sure the servos are hooked up to the proper pins that are used by the program. For example, if the program is sending the servo pulses on say pin #10, then you want to have the servo connected to that pin of the controller. Also, you must make sure that the black lead of the servo connector is connected to the ground pin, red lead to power, and either the yellow or white lead (depending on the servo) to the pin out of the controller being used. If you connect the servo lead upside down, then nothing will happen.
It would be helpful if you posted your code so we can take a look at it and if possible, a digital photo of your setup would also be very usefull.
