It’s been released for us to try out. I downloaded and installed it, and am able to get some stuff to run, but not what I really want to check out - the new Visual Programming Language. Whenever I try to start VPL, it just crashes. I am going to see if I can figure out why and fix it, but I am not going to put a lot of time into troubleshooting it. I would really like to be able to use VPL, especially after watching the first video tutorial.
I found my solution to VPL crashing on startup at the MSDN forums, where I saw a thread about VPL crashing. The person uninstalled the .NET 3.0 Framework, then downloaded it direct from Microsoft, and installed that. It works! I can get VPL to launch without crashing now and it appears I will be able to tinker with it now. This procedure also works and should be done for the MSRS 1.0 release version, since VPL has the same crashing problems there also.
yea iwas looking at the 1.5 but could,nt find where to download it ,and i see ur link is dead did they pull it ??? and what else do i need to download too go with it and in what order do i install…
The annoying thing to worry about is that it has changed its name.
It was Microsoft Robotics Studio Ver 1.0, its now become a Customer Technology Preview.
That means only one thing. We are going to have to pay for it in future…
I’ve installed it and tried it and as before it does have some nice features but its still aimed at the more sophisticated SDK or API driven robots
LG… .NET Framework 3.0 has had some serious problems. We have had to postpone development on it for the moment instead staying with 2.0 for the moment.
I believe MSRS has to have ver 3.0 so its a bit unfortunate
