Metal pole climber for filming a soccer match

Hello to all

I’m French, I’m very new in the world of robots and I need your help and knowledge :slight_smile:

My goal is to have a remote-controlled device able to mount a camcorder on a metal pole to be able to film my soccer games or those of my children.
In fact I need a device capable of mounting a weight of about 2 kg by rolling vertically on a pole and holding it with a magnet.

I have already found such a device:
Unfortunately this robot can only carry a weight of 0.5 kg (gopro)

I need a robot that can carry a weight of about 2 kg along a pole: a robotcamera + a camcorder

1. Do you think this robot already exists (at a reasonable price) ?
I have searched but not found it…


2. Do you think it is possible to build it ?
If yes, can you advise me, help me :slight_smile: ?

You have a nice and interesting project :slight_smile:

  1. This robot exists. I mean, you found one already :smiley: I didn’t even know that these kind of robots exists. OK, this one that you found (seems like only complete solution out there) doesn’t suit you perfectly but that’s the other topic.

  2. Of course it is possible to build it. Everything is possible :smiley: But of course, this will take a lot of time and a little bit of money, especially if you want to make a complete product, well packed in nice design that you can sell to others.
    But you already found a similar project, which is a good start. You can use the ideas from this project, do some improvements and make it suit you.

For example, this one robot carries 0.5KG, and you need 2KG. What would happen if you use 4 of them at the same time? :smiley:

Your idea to use 4 robots can appear to be a little bit crazy but after reflection it gave me some ideas !
