Mega AH3-R Hexapod Walker Video

Here is a video I made last Sunday of the new MAH3-R Hexapod Walker. It’s really big, 30" across. It weighs in at around 9lbs! The payload is limited to about 2 additional pounds of stuff. It’s already carrying 2 x 6vdc 2800mAh batteries. It’s using 18 HS-755HB servos. The HS-5745MG servos will allow much more payload. I’ve already ordered the body panels in black and clear anodizing! 8)

WOW! I bet the thing is massive Jim! You should make some pictures with a AH-3 next to it to compare. :smiling_imp:

PS. Did I see you’re talking car in the background?

It is massive. You see the ants in the video? They look like ants it’s so big… lol

Um, no the wife’s truck is blocking its view. hehe

Thats a massive hexapod with a huge platform! Now you got a walking helicopter deck too!

Great outdoor walking. One thing I like with the tripod gait is that it is sort of “self terrain adapting”

I will second it (or is that third…) Looks Great!

Ok ok here is a little comparison image for ya!

It’s time for a Mega Brat 8)

Don’t forget the micro hexapod!

We have received the body panels in clear and black anodizing. As soon as we receive the longer hex standoffs we will have the body kits on the shelf and on the website. It won’t be long now. Finally extreme mega round Hexapod nirvana is soon at hand!

Do you have the regular hex standoffs (1.875")? I’ve looked a few times, but haven’t seen any. I know they are included in the body kits.

Here they are, in the Hardware / Hex Standoffs section.

These large bodies will require a 2.438" standoff.

Wait!

I never saw that section before!

6-32 threaded F-F would also be useful.

Thanks!

Wow, that’s got to be the Mother of all AH3-R bots (M AH3-R). It’s a Mamabot! It walks with great intent, as if stalking some prey…

I may have to eventually redesign the decks for W.A.L.T.E.R. to use beefier 6-32 threaded standoffs. I just can’t get the deck separation I want easily with 4-40 standoffs and he’s starting to get a bit unstable (not that he’s ever really been stable…).

How wide is the body itself?

It’s 12" across, and the tabs for the legs are 2" long. So either 12" or 16" depending on your perspective.

How would it look if you put the legs from the Ch3-r on the black mega chassis? Would it look awkward? Meaning would it still look at evil as zurg himself .

Hmmm, don’t know zurg. You would have to swap out the longer aluminum standoffs with the shorter ones but it would fit. You would need 645s for the legs. I don’t know if it would look awkward, or really cool. lol :open_mouth:

Imagine a Johnny 6 with the mega chassis! I think i just fainted!

Do these: hitecrcd.com/servos/show?name=HS-M7990TH servo’s work with the Ses, because if they do, you could make the best hexapod ever :smiling_imp: !
