MechWarfare ARC32 Powered Scout

Hello!

My current project is a lynxmotion scout biped with an ARC-32, hopefully destined for the Mech Warfare event at RoboGames.

I’ve been attempting to program the scout, but have come across some speed bumps to my progress.
The robot previously was controlled using the controller board from a RoboNova-1, so I could use its respective software - especially its motion capture features.

Currently, I wrote some quick and dirty code to be able to move each individual servo via a terminal, so I guess that could be a long and tedious way of getting the servo values for static gaits.

Is there a motion capture software for the ARC-32 or Basic Atom stamps?
If not, what would you suggest?

Additionally - I had planned on using static gaits like I had with RoboNovas I had worked with in the past. On the other hand, I’ve been looking at Zenta’s PS2 Archer code and wondered if I could adapt it for the scout, as his robot looks amazing :stuck_out_tongue:
And I keep thinking of new questions to ask!
What would you recommend in terms of batteries: Ni-MH vs LiPo? (battery life, weight, safety, etc)

If any of these questions have been answered previously in other threads, if you would be so kind as to say so (or link them) that would be fantastic.

Thanks!
