Measuring ambient IR rays and reflected IR rays using Dagu IR Compound Eye

Hello LMRians,

So, just got a couple of Dagu IR Compound Eyes. As it is written, The IR LEDs can be controlled by a digital output so that ambiant light as well as reflected light can be measured. I do notice a digital output pin, can anybody walk me through the technique involved in doing so?

Also, am planning to use 3 of these eyes in the Dagu Rover for line following ( in ambiant lighting conditions). I plan to mount 2 of them sideways in the lower center part of the chasis and one at the front. Any suggestion for alternate mounting options?

Thanks

Ashim

thanks max, indeed, i have

thanks max, indeed, i have been thinking to use an array sensor as well, specifically designed for line following as Lumi has used, even i had a shot at it in my line follower. But, this track is a bit different than just plain line following, so with suggestions from OddBot, i decided that i would need the most number of inputs as possible just in case my robot won’t get lost in the track lol

Had a look at Lumi’s bot, pretty cool.

I am also thinking of using the Pololu arrays, thanks for the suggestions!!!

And inputs, no problem, using a spider controller \0/
