Measure distance of fast moving object in tube

Hi.

For one project I need some sensor which will be able to measure distance of fast moving object placed in tube (tube length is 4m but can be cut down to 3m).

So I guess I need some sensor with really narrow ROI or FoV.

Can somebody help me with this and recommand some solution?

A great option would be a LIDAR, you can find many options in the store but you have to check the optical aperture and the update/sampling rate and choose one according to the specifications of your project: the tube width (for choosing between single or multi-beam) and the speed of the moving object (to check it the update rate is enough).
