MD10C 100 degrees F?

I recently purchased an MD10C motor controller and noticed the board feeling quite warm with minimal use. One of the capacitors near the center of the board measured 100 degrees F and climbing before I shut it down. Is this normal?

I’m currently operating a pittman 9233 series 12VDC model train motor. The maximum current consumption of the motor is 11 amps, while the average should be around 2-3 amps. However, I’m testing it stationary and with no cars so it really should be even less current consumption than that. The battery I’m using is a 3S, 3000mah, 30C lipo battery…which has more than enough capability to power the motor.

If this heat is normal please let me know. Should I look into getting a heatsink? I need the board to last for a long time.
