Mcu or servo controller for linux

Hello all, I plan to be using linux on my netbook as the major brain of my robot, what I dont know is if the ssc-32 would be fine for connecting the servos together or if I should use something else. I plan to be using multiple arms and together.

ssc-32 will work fine.
As long as you can find usb serial adapter drivers for your linux you should be good.

As far as programming on linux, that’s way out of my league.
