Can the MC33886 Raspberry Pi Motor Driver Board control two 4.2 amp 100watt DC motors? It just says “single motor up to 5amps” which leads me to think that 5amps is shared between the two. Would be helpful if the specs on this product were more detailed on this issue.

As I can see from the picture, and schematics, this board has 2 x MC33886 chips, so each of them is controlling 1 motor. I checked MC33886 datasheet, and max Iout current is 5A, so yes, it could control your motors.
