I am using the board to trip relays and not servos…(sorry servo lovers)
I have a drawer full of mechanical relays that require 12vdc to trigger them. Can i use 12vdc on the VS1 and VS2 inputs or will this fry something. The manusl speaks of max input for servo use and not relay.
i really don’t want to let the smoke out of the board.
The VS1 and VS2 inputs go directly to the servo pins, not used on board that I recall. The uP on the board normally drives a data pin on the connector. How are you planning to operate 12v relays with the SSC-32? The data pin only sinks a limited 10 or 20ma current.
The SSC-32 servo pulse outputs are current limited so you can’t burn them up by shorting the outputs to ground or 5vdc. To control relays you can get servo relay drivers, I.e. Battle Switch and Pico Switch, or you can make a TTL switch following these examples. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2463
