I’m a fresh graduate, and i’m now preparing for my master’s degree in robotics.
I’m now in the middle of the preparatory year for the research, and i’m supposed to be looking for the thesis that i will work on through my master. So i need guidelines for robotics researches and how to follow up latest researches and papers. And what are the most interesting topics to do my research in?
Hello @salman12 and welcome to the Robotshop community!
I’m a fresh graduate, and I’m now preparing for my master’s degree in robotics.
Congratulations!
I recommend joining in ResearchGate which is a social network where scientists and researchers share their papers. There you can pick your “skills and expertise” which could be topics you’re interested in and that way you’ll receive notifications (if you choose to) showing you relevant investigations. You can also follow researchers, start discussions, etc. That’s what I did when I was investigating for my thesis and it really helped.
And what are the most interesting topics to do my research in?
This totally depends on your interests but in case you don’t have any particular one you can always check the News and the robotic-news channel on Slack and see if something catches your eye. Some popular topics are autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, surgical robots, but there are many more for any taste. Also, if you find any interesting topic but have questions about it you can always come back to the forum
If i may not bother, this link you posted, does not work
You’re right! I couldn’t manage to link the Robotshop Slack chat but you can get there by clicking the “Join the chat tab” that appears on the bottom right of the website.
What specific article should i read gathering all of these topics, instead of searching for every single topic.
Again this depends on your interests, but I found this list that mentions some of the most important ones, you can check it out (specifically the electrical and mechanical engineering ones) and if one grabs your attention do more research on it, these are quite broad topics so you could search for news about it until you find a specific topic that interests you and then you can look for papers about it. Also, take advantage of the fact that 2019 just ended and look for the most relevant news of the year. I also suggest asking your teachers, they probably have some projects on mind and they like their students to do more research on them.
Anyways good luck with your research! Let us know how it goes or if you need any help!
