Marshmallow Toaster

I got an AL5A with wrist option to try on a small assembly automation project. I also got a continuous servo to run a conveyor as needed. As it was on my desk at work it reminded me of another project that I had talked about with a couple folks - and since we had all the parts - a promo video was born.

I wasn’t able to get the IR sensor to consistently see the changing color of the marshmallow. It worked sometimes but some marshmallows were off round and it wouldn’t read right. Then the flame thing was an issue occasionally and I decided it should be a feature instead. Without tons of time fine tuning I thought it was interesting for our Iso-Tip website. Not the greatest promo video but I enjoyed it.

Anyway - for what that’s worth.
Steve

I love it!!! Steve, man you made my day.

You need to add a flame detector and an air can. lol

That was really fun! Thanks for sharing.

Hey Jim - I’m glad you like it.

The software and hardware is great. I think every high school in the country should have one of these. It is so useful to ‘play’ with and learn with at the same time. - Though they probably shouldn’t let the students have a torch in the same class . . .
