I’m trying to find a mobile platform onto which I can mount Arm5. I’ve looked through the various Lynxmotion platforms and several look promising, but I see no payload specs. Is there a mobile platform that could both hold the arm and run off of the SSC-32 servo controller?
Thanks.
To be honest, there really is no way to quantify a payload capacity for any servo robot.
Simple things like power distribution, robot duty cycle, servo heat, limb positioning, etc. can all greatly effect payload capacity.
For instance, a biped can carry quite a heavy weight with little issues, provided that it’s standing still.
Once you start leaning to one side to begin a walking gait, though, you place all that weight upon the ankle servo that it’s leaning on, and the servo will probably give out.
Or, for instance, if you’ve been running your hexapod for the last 20 minutes, the servos will be warm.
Fresh servos are MUCH stronger than hot servos.
For general reference…
If you need a payload servo bot, then a hexapod is the way to go.
I’d recommend using 5645 or better servos, though, as you’ll need all the torque you can get.
