Hi! This is what I am wanting to make. It is simply a flag attached to a rope driven by a remote controlled motor. The basic that it must do off of the remote is change direction. At the flag it needs to move at at least 6mph but no more than 9mph. I have no idea where to start and was hoping someone would be so kind to help me!
Hi Laverdad90,
We can’t access the link provided for the YouTube video. It seems like a bad link.
If you need to drive a DC motor you could use a Wireless Remote Controller for 12V Actuators to control it and it will allow you to move the motor in both directions.
Best regards,
The suggestion is till valid, you could use that box to control a motor both directions.
That looks perfect. Thanks. Do you know if I can stop the motion with that remote as well?
The remote will require to user to keep it’s finger on to have the motor turn.
If you need something that keep the motor ON while not holding anything, it will be something custom which need to be designed on your side.
This board is great. I am very interested in this question of remote control for a mechanical cow. I have a friend who wants to build one. BUT, I have a related question. I want to use a remote control to operate a simple 2 direction switch on a JLG manlift. This is a battery operated lift (4 12 volt batteries). This vehicle can be driven around, but I am using it stationary as an elevator, so I need only the up/down control. My idea is to use a remote to take the place of normal elevator controls. I need to be able to bring it up and down remotely. This seems better to me than hard wiring as a regular elevator would be. Is it possible? Do you sell a remote that would work?
It seems a standard hobby RC system would suit your needs? If not, can you perhaps provide a drawing and a bit more explanation of what you want to control and how?

I can get electrical schematics, I think, the piece of equipment, but I have practically zero electrical knowledge,so it might be trial and error choosing which pages to send. If I can get a plan that will work, I will have an electrician install whatever needs to be installed. I have spoken with a couple people who thought it might be more complicated than I thought, due to the amount of power used to run the lift. I had viewed it as a simple on/off switch, and thought that something as simple as ceiling fan remote control might work. The lift has two sets of controls. There is a platform control, which is normally what is used for operation. This gives the operator full control of all functions, including driving the lift around. The ground control only allows one to raise or lower the lift. There is a key selector switch to go from platform to ground controls. I am only interested in the ground controls. When the key switch is set to ground control, one can raise or lower with a toggle switch. The toggle switch is what I want to control.
