Makeblock starter robot v2

Hi,

Looking for some advice as at the moment I know nothing about robotics, coding etc.

I am look to buy my son the starter robot kit

But from reading some reviews on line it appears that it needs to be wired to a pc whilst you are coding etc. If I was to buy the makeblock Bluetooth module, https://www.robotshop.com/uk/makeblock-me-bluetooth-module.html, as well would this mean we would be about to control it via Bluetooth from a phone or laptop?

Hi Andy,

The Makeblock Starter Kit needs to be plugged via USB to be programmed.

Note that it can be controlled with an IR remote and the IR receiver.

The robot may also be controlled via Bluetooth with the following module like you mentioned: https://www.robotshop.com/uk/makeblock-me-bluetooth-module.html
The Makeblock Me Bluetooth Module is designed to connect with mobile phones by using the specific APP.
