Magnetic Door Lock Information

I’m looking for more information on the below product:

robotshop.com/productinfo.aspx?pc=RB-Cyt-71&lang=en-US

  1. How many pounds of force is it rated for?
  2. How does the locking mechanism actually “lock”? ie: is it a physical connection of a bolt into a slot or is it purely magnetic force?

Thanks for the info. I thought that would be the case. Given that, if someone just pushed hard enough (rammed into the door with > 60Kg of force), the lock would be bypassed, correct?

  1. The holding force is 60Kg max
  2. There is not physical lock - the two parts are held together magnetically.

That is correct. This should be comparable to the strength of a regular lock. This types of locks are used often in Malls and mail fail if power goes out. Usually they are connected to a backup battery.
