Magellan Tracked Vehicle (MTV-1)

Here are a few pics of an autonomous tracked bot that I recently completed assembling. Still perfecting the code but he gets around fairly well. The MTV-1 uses the following sensor systems:

Ping Ultrasonic Ranger
2 Sharp GP2Y0D349K infrared sensors (trigger set at 16")
Parallax Compass Appmod

Microcontroller
Bot Board w/BS2sx

Motors/Controller
2 Mabuchi Torque Tuned motors
Pololu serial Dual Motor Controller

Cute little bugger. Very nice.

Thanks for the photos!

Hehe, he’s really neat.

Where did you get those tracks from?

They look like the Tamiya tracks.

Give that man a cigar!

They are the Tamiya tracks.

www.superdroids.com carries them for cheap cheap.

Thanks for the photos. It’s always nice to see what the community has built. I see you used the BS2SX micro, I want to use the BS2px micro for my project. I love the Atom micro, but since I am a bit weak with programming, I need something that has plenty of code examples.

I don’t know, I keep changing my mind on this. I love the speed of the Atom and the slot free program space. I may just get both.

thats really cool, idk wat it is about him, but he looks like a little bug to me, its probably the ping sensors

That is really a nice looking bot!
I especially like the track configuration, looks like it could navigate some fairly difficult terrain. 8)

Looks pretty cool.

The tank design looks like its from E-Clec-Tech.

Thanks,

Actually it’s made from parts I bought at www.superdroids.com

Looks lovely.

Really cute…you could incorporate it as a scout on a larger rover…
