According to the specifications of the transceiver used (DW1000) the communications range of up to 290m thanks to coherent receiver techniques.

How to import this device into a new python project? And what types of data can it tell me on a python application?

As the module uses a microcontroller you won’t be able to use Python to program it (maybe you could be able to use MicroPython but there is no available library). However, you can use Arduino and there is an example available:
