Lynxterm Programming

Hi i need help my robot needs Simultaneous use of 12 servos to function and i am using the SSC-32 board to run them along with a Lynxterm program but when every time i give the command to to move more than 4 servos at a time only the first 4 servos are activated and the rest stay still .Is there a way to rectify this problem?

This sounds like a power problem. Please describe the power supply you are using. Jumper settings, Wire size, wall pack or battery… More info…

The power supply is a 9 Volt supply for the Logic (VL) and a 6 Volt supply for the Servos(VS1) and jumper settings are such that VS1=VS2. I am using a battery pack of 4 AA Nickel metal hydride of 1.5 ea and a 9V battery for the SSC-32

“battery pack”… like as 4 discrete NiMH AA cells in a little cheesy plastic battery holder like you get from radio shack?

Did you remove the VS=VL jumper?

As Eddie has eluded, the plastic battery holders can not deliver the required current because of the springs that make contact to the cells and the little 30 gage wires. Also 4 NiMH cells is 4.8vdc! not 6.0vdc… You really need 5 cells.

I believe you have three problems. The batteries, the battery holders, and the VS=VL jumper.

i have not used jumper for VS=VL and i will try using 5 cells all thought i did not understand the problem with the battery holders

I made this youtube video to illustrate why black plastic battery holders don’t work for servos.
