Lynxterm not supported

I notice that Lynxterm and other calibration routines are shown on the Robot Shop web site as “legacy and not currently supported.”
Why is that? Is there a replacement for them? Please explain.
What is your recommendation for calibrating the Phoenix hexapod I recently purchased from you?

For Lynxmotion hexapods, Lynxterm is still most likely the best software one to use for calibration.
While it is true that Lynxterm is a legacy software (and no longer has any active development), it is still a good, reliable software for this task (and other SSC-32/SSC-32U tasks). The fact that is is legacy simply means that new issues will not be supported (ex: new bugs or issues running it on a specific setup).
It should also be noted that the default Phoenix code includes a way to do calibration by achieving a serial connection to the BotBoarduino (@ 57600 baud rate, if I remember correctly).
