I’ve been using LynxTerm v1.10 to test out the legs for A.S.T.R.I.D.
There are a few things I would like to see changed in a future version.
-
Keep a scroll buffer of commands entered and allow scrolling forward and backward. It would be very useful to be able to do this when testing what commands for each servo move to various positions. Often I want to go back and look at the last command I entered for a servo when I am checking what commands I used.
-
Allow entering the high and low servo limits in the servo position slider. It’s a bit of a nuisance to have to use the arrows to get to the limits I want to use and the defaults are P750 and P2250. It would be really nice to be able to save these limits for future LynxTerm sessions so it starts up the way I want it.
-
Allow saving a home position for each servo and provide a Home button to move the servos to this position. Show the home command positions sent to each servo when the Home button is pressed. This might be accomplished by saving the last command sent to a servo and allow these to be saved with a “Save Home” button.
-
Allow copy/paste to/from the main window in order to allow command strings to be saved for inclusion in code.
I think these changes would make LynxTerm even more useful and nice to use.
