Hi everyone,
A couple of months ago we released the new Lynxmotion UAV Aluminum clamps in order to give us a strong / versatile base for the construction of the next line of Lynxmotion UAV frames. Starting from a basic frame which was already created (and proven) in the past under DiaLFonZo-Copter, we changed quite a few aspects and added others on our way to creating an optimal modular quadcopter frame.

To prove the concept, we laser-cut the flat panels out of 3mm Lexan. We were aware this would be a bit more flexible than G10 but would give us a good idea of the frame’s flight characteristics.
Features of the new frame:
]G10 body and motor mount plates for strength, weight and durability/:m]
]Top mounted battery reduces damage to the battery in the event of a crash/:m]
]Wide motor mounts which allow for up to 42mm diameter brushless motors/:m]
]Bent Lexan landing gear that act like a shock absorber on landing (image at far right)/:m]
]Additional “low profile” landing gear (image at far left) also included/:m]
]Directly compatible with the Quadrino Nano Flight Controller and GPS Antenna/:m]
]Mounting holes for mounting flight controllers with 30.5mm to 45mm spaced mounting holes/:m]
]Side plates for mounting ESCs allow for cooling and easy assembly/wiring/:m]
]Front plate for fixed camera mounting/:m]
]500mm category frame (492mm motor to motor configuration to be exact) /:m]
]Integrated mount for the LIDAR-Lite 40m Laser Rangefinder/:m]
]Mounting holes for the Lynxmotion Little Grip Kit (which can be used to hold and drop a payload)/:m]
]Mounting holes for Lynxmotion SES compatible brackets for additional mounting/:m]You can see the pictures of the first frame cut in Lexan below, and changes have been implemented since then.

Let us know what you think about the design. Is there anything you would like to see added, removed or changed before the design is finalized?
Once we are set on the design, we will start the production and list it online, so feel free to discuss it here and we would be happy to consider any suggestions you may have.
