Lynxmotion Tri-Track Chassis + 12V, 9500 mAH Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery

Hi all,

I am interested in purchasing the two items in the title – links:

I am wondering if the battery I have chosen would sit nicely on the chassis.

My concern is that both the chasiss width and the battery are at 18cm. However I see in the picture from the chassis that there might be an extra cm left and right (underneath the tracks) for the battery to fit well.

Otherwise I would probably go for two of these and see how I would sort it out…

The 12V battery fits exactly between the tracks with no space - we did not test it in motion, but the rivets holding the tracks together may in fact contact eh battery in motion. The best way to mount that battery on the Tri-Track would be along the centerline of the robot (which also distributes weight).
