Hi @twinsteve,

Welcome to the RobotShop community!

Well, lets first identify the cause of your issue. To help with this, please provide one or more pictures showing clearly your SSC-32U, its jumpers, its power source(s), the RC servomotors and their connections to the SSC-32U. Add annotations if required for clarity on the pictures.

Also, please note that the SSC-32U has two separate power systems. One is by USB and only powers the USB to serial interface. Therefore, the SSC-32U will show up as a serial port (COM port on windows), but this does not power the microcontroller on board or the servomotors. For this to happen, you need to ensure you have a stable 6 V DC power source on your VS1 screw terminals in the right polarity. You can tell if the SSC-32U is powered properly by the PWR LED (see page 14 of the SSC-32U manual for details) turning on when it is.

You can read more info about powering the SSC-32U in the manual on pages 15-18. Actually, if you have not already I highly recommend you go through most of that manual (only 41 pages, most of it images!) to better understand the product and what it can do.

I’ll be waiting for your reply and info to further help you.

Sincerely,
