Lynxmotion PS2 Controller V4 Receiver's LED not lighting ( blink or steady )

Lynxmotion PS2 Controller V4 Receiver’s LED not lighting ( blink or steady )
I have been using the Controller with no problems but today the receiver’s LED does not illuminate and the transmitter’s LEDS flash red and green.
I verified with a voltmeter that the receiver is getting 5 volts and disconnected all wires but the 5v power and Ground and still no LED illumination.
Is there anything else I can try?
cheers, Brian

Further to my question above. If the receiver has “gone south” can it be purchased separately or is it specifically paired with the transmitter?

@BrianT Welcome back. If none of your wiring or code has changed, perhaps it’s just just a low voltage / used battery issue? Alternatively, wires come loose, so it’s best to re-check all of them. If neither of these are the case, then perhaps load the PS2 code and verify the output via the Arduino IDE? If it’s well outside the warranty period, there’s no guarantee a PS2 transmitter will work with a random PS2 receiver. Additionally, some PS2 receivers require level shifts etc.

Thanks for your quick response. I’ll give your suggestions a try, but I think it’s dead.

@BrianT Want to do an autopsy to see if you can spot any burnt / missing / damaged components or corrosion? Unless it’s really old, not sure why it would die.

Thanks for responding…
I ordered and received a new Lynxmotion PS2 V4 Controller. The new receiver worked just fine with the old transmitter. I took apart the old receiver and looked for cold solder joints, overheating etc. and everything looked just fine. - go figure !!

Can just the receiver be ordered as a repair part?
cheers, Brian

Yes and no… depends on if this receiver is compatible with your transmitter. Of all the PS2 transmitters and receivers we tested, none are “universally compatible”. This one is for the PS2 V1. We order the V4 as transmitter + receiver and don’t have a separate SKU for the receivers.
