We are very proud to introduce our brand of Lynxmotion LiPo batteries.
The two model we have at the moment are both 30C in discharge rate and 11.1v 3S voltage output.
Just posted this on the Orion list, seems appropriate here as well.
Well I feel stupid.
I’ve been trying to get an LM QS3 'Quad walking, when I decided to throw a charge into my Fire Ant. I’d been using a NiCad charger, and you can guess what happened. The connector fitted, and I gave it no thought to the fact that the Fire Ant had a Lithium Polly battery. You can guess the rest. About 1-2 hours after I started the charge (on my desk about 18" away from me) I start hearing a sizzling sound. I grabbed the charger unplugged it, and then disconnected it from the battery. The sizzling stopped. The battery didn’t explode, and it cooled off. I pulled the battery out of the 'bot.
Hi. I’m new to the RC world. I purchased a universal charger. Also I bought a lipo 3800mha from lynx motion. Turning on the charger I noticed that it must be configured to the appropriate battery. I got to the part when you specify that is a 3s. But it has another field that reads 0.1A, and to tell you the truth I don’t have a clue on the value that I have to enter for my bat model. Please help. If you r so king please let me know how much time I have to charge the bat. Thank u.
Thank u for that prompted answer. Can u tell me for a 3800mha? And the amount of time. This one reads 30C on the label. Sorry I don’t want to blew it. Thank u.
Max charge amp is 3.8A for your batt. The amount of time is decided by the charger. Normally it ends at 4.2v per cell. I would recommend using a balance charger to be on the safe side. Especially when the batteries has gone through many cycles the individual cell voltage can drift a little.
I’ve got 4 chargers, the last one I bought was a iCharger 106B. My reason for pointing out the importance of balancing is that most universal chargers are able to charge LiPo’s without balancing them, you need to select “LiPo Balance Charge” in the menu.
