Lynxmotion FSR-01 Force Sensing Resistor Kit

Hi,

I am designing an actuator to actuate the Force Sensing Resistor(Interlink Electronics).I need help in following areas.
]Bidirectional Probe Mechanism with a spring concept./:m]
]Actuator design and size which contacts with the active area of the FSR./:m]Thanks,
Arun. A

Hi ,

I need help to know the engineering behind the actuator (rubber bumper) design used in FSR kit. Why can’t we use an actuator with actuating area equal to the active area of FSR instead of spherical tipped actuator?.

Thanks,
Arun. A

The bumper is there to simply distribute a load by having one point of contact.
There are not many FSR designs to fit the little grip kit perfectly, so this is a good work around.
We’re not sure we understand what you are looking to do - you’ll need to provide additional details.

  1. Is there any chance to get the CAD model of the Bumper?
  2. What is the material of the Bumper?
  3. Are there any actuation mechanisms used for FSR to refer ?.Want to look some golden examples.

Unfortunately we do not have the CAD model.

Rubber

Not really, it’s a force sensor whose output is a variable resistance. You need to create a voltage divider circuit and use analog input.

Benson thanks for your support. I hardly need the dimensions of bumper so that I can start designing the mounting provision of the same.
