Lynxmotion and Robonova parts to make soccer bot.
That raises an eyebrow .
Anyone have any idea on how these cameras are set up with the microcontrollers?
I got an email address and shot them a question about that and the software. If I here back from them I’ll post it. But at first glance it could be the same as Roborealm and the CMU2 software with some stamp coding.
I edited the subject to reflect the content. Thanks for posting the link to the video. I really like the way they used the Servo Erector Set components to make a rotation in the tibia. Much easier to do than making the hip rotate, but has much the same effect. In fact I’m making a new bracket that will allow this mounting without modification of the brackets. Very cool video. 8)
Sorry,
I didn’t really know where to post this, I thought that sense they were bipeds.
I thought the same thing about the tibia rotation as well. I have been playing around with different types of both hip and waste rotation and like the look of the tibia rotation. Right now I have just a servo for the waste and moved the low profile brackets for hip rotation, which makes really a good looking robot, but it comes down to wire dressing. The wires can get caught in the gears during operation of the bot.
Keep us posted about the knew brackets, when I get a new video camera I’ll post videos of the bot I have built now before I make changes to the tibia type rotation so you can see a comparison of the two motions.

No need to be sorry, I only changed the subject, I didn’t move it.
It will be a little while on the brackets, but I should be able to get them done this summer. Looking forward to seeing your video!
I went ahead and designed the tibia rotation bracket (ASB-24.) Received a quote on them today and already ordered them. 8)
Cool,
Let me know when they get in. I have been having a bout of insomnia lately and I was up until four a.m. and dismanteled my robot. This is not a hobby to have when you can’t get to sleep. I keep trying to come with a more human type design, these brackets will be pretty cool.
Thanks for the update.
Ken
Very cool
Please keep us updated on the status. Can’t wait to try that out.
Here’s some info they sent me on the Soccoerbot.
Re: Your Soccerbot looks great.
Sure! servos used in kid size (40 cm) robots are hitec 13kg cm the servo controller is ssc32 or something like that, you can find it in www.lynxmotion.com, the main controller is a DsPic programmed with ssc © and the camera is a cmucam3. For the teen size robot the servos are hitec 5990tg (30kgcm)
Best Regards.

Hi guys,
I’ve just received the brackets, but unfortunately it’s going to be after we get moved before they are available for sale. Well it’s an update anyway.
I will definitely have to see that in action… because right now I am absolutely failing to see what benefit that design gives over the normal one.
Look at the original post…

It adds tibia rotation to the legs.
Beatiful,
Those are going to work for an arm elbo rotation as well. Hey I have have some free time, how bout if I drive down from Chicago to help you guys move.
You know, just to speed things along. I could have you moved by the weekend.
